Worcestershire Skills Show 2018 logo

Did you go to the Worcestershire Skills Show last Wednesday?  We did – and so did lots of parents and children!

Droitwich’s Chateau Impney Hotel hosted the free careers event which was very popular (and took place during both National Careers Week and National Apprenticeship Week). Lots of businesses and organisations were there from all over Worcestershire and there was loads for visitors to do (including science challenges, the chance to make non-alcoholic cocktails and presenting the weather on TV).  So many helpful people to talk to, information and leaflets to take away – it seemed difficult to come away without an idea or two for the future!

We got there for the drop-in session from 3.30pm (when families began arriving). Lots of people stopped to talk with us (several signed up for our email updates) and we gave out our leaflets as well as some about the BeCyberSmart online safety campaign and cards for Kooth.  Everyone who gave us an email address for our updates should have received a welcome email (so if you haven’t had one, please contact us).

A new careers website launched at the show (we provided some feedback when it was being set up). There’s a huge amount of information on the site, so do take a look if someone in your family is thinking about what to do in the future (the section about support for parents in Worcestershire includes a link to us!).

Well Done to everyone involved in organising the event and thank you to everyone who talked to us, we enjoyed meeting you.

So what’s next for Parents’ Voice in 2018? Come back soon to find out!
